Fiber Innovation Technology was founded in 1995 as a manufacturer of specialty fiber products for industrial, apparel and home furnishing applications. Construction of the Johnson City, Tennessee facility began in 1996 and the Staple Plant began operations in the spring of 1997.
The company has an established reputation in producing bi-component and specialty staple fibers from a wide variety of thermoplastic materials in a range of deniers from 0.9 dpf to 32 dpf and in multiple cross-sectional arrangements.
A partial list of polymers used in commercial products includes: PET, CoPET, PP, HDPE, PPS, and PLA.
Fiber Innovation Technology operates a Pilot Line to allow development of new products and processes. The full capability of the commercial manufacturing equipment is mirrored in the Pilot Line's capabilities.
