FibreNet network

FibreNet is a network of experts interested in the field of bio-based fibres. In 2018-2021, it runs as an innovative EU-funded H2020-MSCA-ITN project that trains PhDs in functionalization, characterization, modelling and production of bio-based fibres and fibre products. The core of the FibreNet is a consortium of 15 European academic and industrial organizations. Together we strive to bridge the knowledge-gap between the properties of fibres and fibre-based products in order to enable product tailoring, products with new functionalities and brand-new fibre products. We concentrate on bio-based fibres, either natural or man-made in origin. We seek solutions that are suited for different application areas of bio-based industry including biocomposites, paper&packaging and medical textiles. The common thread in all our research and educational efforts is sustainability.
