FIDA stands for The Federacion Internationalé De Abogadas which means The International Federation of Women Lawyers⚖️. FIDA was formally established in Mexico in 1944 and in Nigeria in 1964. FIDA Nigeria is a non-profit, non-political, voluntary association of women called to the practice of law in Nigeria. There are branches across the 36 states in Nigeria of which FIDA Ogun is one. FIDA’s mission is to promote, protect and preserve the rights, interests and well-being of women and children through the use of legal framework to ensure that they live free from all forms of discrimination, violence and abuse in the society. FIDA actualises its objectives through free legal representation for indigent women and children, advocacy and policy campaigns, education and training, mediation and counselling services, and publishing information resources. FIDA OOU, is the Student Branch of FIDA Nigeria in Olabisi Onabanjo University.
