Fido Foods based in New York City, was an online retailer that specialized in on-demand and same-day pet food delivery to the 5 boroughs of New York City. Customers had the ability to order 24/7 from their computer or smartphone and have their pet food delivered within 2 hours anywhere within the city; including to their offices, hotels and heliports. The company was started by a Newport Beach, CA based entrepreneur and his wife. The acquiring company found the 3 year old internet retailer attractive for its customer facing interface, recurring order management, nationwide shipping, government pet food contracts, veterinary pharmacy and its extensive back-end technology. The Fido Foods brand and retail operations were discontinued as of December 30, 2016 as part of the acquisition.
