Field Day Lab

Field Day is a digital learning game studio and educational research laboratory at Wisconsin Center for Education Research at the University of Wisconsin - Madison, one of the largest educational research centers in the county. Our award winning games are based in situated and sociocultural theories of learning and range in topics from elementary school historical inquiry to graduate level thermodynamics. We work primarily with public institutions, such as public media, public libraries and public schools and our games are played by millions of learners yearly. More than just impact, we use these games as instruments to better understand how people think and learn. We use the large amounts of data generated by our games to build new learning science theory and empirically proven design approaches.
