Finsec Law Advisors is a financial sector law firm based in Mumbai. The firm provides regulatory advice and assistance in the financial sector, focusing on the securities, investments and banking industry in particular. The firm’s work extends from advisory services to transactional to litigation services. We regularly provide advice on complex securities and financial market issues on areas such as takeover regulations, market infrastructure regulations and derivatives. We advise on regulatory issues relating to Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs), mutual funds, alternative investment funds (AIFs), venture capital funds and portfolio managers. Further, we assist in cross border private equity deals, capital raising, private placements in both bond and equity markets. Mr. Sandeep Parekh (Managing Partner) is a former executive director of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) where he headed the Legal Affairs and Enforcement Departments. Sandeep is a visiting faculty at IIM, Ahmedabad and has worked for a law firm in Delhi, Mumbai and Washington, D.C. He holds an LL.M. (Securities & Finance Regulation) degree from Georgetown University and an LL.B. degree from Delhi University. He is also admitted to practice law at New York and is a member of Mensa. He is a World Economic Forum “Young Global Leader” and has been invited to speak at Davos. Sandeep was a chairman and member of various SEBI and RBI Committees and sub-committees. He currently sits on the SEBI Mutual Fund Advisory Committee. Mr. Anil Choudhary (Partner) holds an LL.M. degree from Harvard Law School, where he was a Hearst Foundation scholar, and a B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) degree from NALSAR, Hyderabad. He has worked with leading law firms in Delhi and Mumbai and has substantial experience in the areas of capital markets and securities law. He is admitted to practice law in New York and is a member of the New York Bar.
