FIP-Pharmabridge

Pharmabridge is a program of the FIP Foundation that aims to facilitate educational and professional development opportunities for pharmacists, pharmacy educators, and pharmaceutical scientists. The objective is to strengthen pharmacy services, pharmacy education, and pharmaceutical sciences in developing and transitional countries. Therefore, Pharmabridge supports pharmacists, pharmacy educators, and pharmaceutical scientists in developing countries through linking and establishing professional connections, tutoring, mentoring, provision of educational resources and exchange opportunities to learn abroad, develop their practice skills, gain knowledge, and bring the newly acquired knowledge back home. Pharmabridge is dedicated to achieving universal pharmacy coverage by fostering global connections and collaborations that strengthen pharmacy practice, education, and science. The program establishes and enhances virtual connection capabilities. Identify and initiate efforts to connect institutions, groups, and individuals with common expertise and interests. The Pharmabridge program has supported matching live exchanges between hosts and interested guests since 1999, when it was founded by Agathe Wehrli. Since 2001, over 183 live exchanges have been supported, and plans and efforts are being put in place to allow for more exchange programs. Pharmabridge continues to provide complimentary copies of the "American Hospital Formulary Service Drug Information" books to every new Pharmabridge registrant from low-income and developing countries, donated by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP).
