Firefighter Mayday Program

The Firefighter Mayday project has the mission to improve the safety of every firefighter during an intervention. The Firefighter Mayday projects aims at developing and organizing courses that are adaptable and within reach of every firefighter. The Firefighter Mayday project wants to help the Fire Departments in finding an answer on the question “What is the most adequate reaction as a team when a colleague is in trouble?” Where that we understand “problem” in all its possible meanings. We develop thorough and very applicable courses to improve the safety of every firefighter. When every firefighter is able to perform better and safer then the collective safety will also improve. During the courses we value a high sense of reality with a positive coaching instructor attitude. Quality together with the physical and mental safety are prime values for every course. The quality has to be of such a level that every participants goes home with a feeling of success and a positive learning experience. The sense of reality will guarantee that the challenging character of a real intervention will be present during a course. The participant takes the central role in the course, the Firefighter. He is the starting point. He is the reality on which every instructor has to graft his course. The Firefighter Mayday project wants to be a full partner for the Fire organizations, the Fire departments and every firefighter. Therefor we continuously work to build and maintain an accessible dynamic online platform that is available for every instructor and firefighter via www.firefightermayday.com This online platform is the beating heart of the Firefighter Mayday project. Through this we assure uniformity in all courses linked to the Firefighter Mayday project. It is also the way to interact with every firefighter individually. This website is the communication system as well as our radar on the working field.
