First Generation Pre-Law Association at UCLA

Founded by seven students who are the first in their families to pursue higher education, the First-Generation Pre-Law Association (FGPLA) was created to transform how first-generation students navigate the path to law school. Recognizing the isolation, gatekeeping, and unwritten norms that often characterize pre-law spaces, the organization came together to build an organization rooted in equity, transparency, and community. FGPLA demystifies the law school application process and to ensure that first-generation students at UCLA have access to the resources, guidance, and support they need to thrive because pursuing a legal education should be a right, not a privilege.
