First Light Safety Products (FLSP) is a division of Smartrend Manufacturing Group (SMG), Inc., established in 2007, a supplier to OEMs and industrial producers. SMG specializes in supply chain management of customer specific engineered components and assemblies using multiple materials and processes.
FLSP was established in 2017, with a goal to reduce school bus related accidents and fatalities. Our patented and patent-pending technology is changing the future of school bus safety.
As members of the community, our talented and innovative team is focused and dedicated to bringing awareness to safety worldwide. There is a staggering number of stop arm violations, with over 17 million violations annually in US alone, resulting in an average of 85,000 bus crash related injuries and 128 school bus fatalities. Our goal is to reduce these alarming figures.
