Disasters are increasing in frequency and intensity, and communities are on the frontline. Many communities in Aotearoa assume that help will arrive quickly—but Cyclone Gabrielle showed that this isn’t always the case. The scale and impact of recent events show that communities must be prepared for at least the first 72 hours. FIRST72 is dedicated to helping communities across New Zealand prepare and stay ready for emergencies & disasters. Some of our clients include government agencies, civil defence groups, councils, agencies, iwi, businesses, marae and community groups. We are on a mission to prepare 500 communities across New Zealand by 2030 through our Ready Together programme.
