FirstGen@ZU deals with the topic of educational equity and makes this topic more visible at Zeppelin University. It is about different hurdles that people encounter in their educational careers. Examples of this can be a lack of support from the family, taking the university entrance exams via the second or third educational path, or a lack of financial resources and role models.
FirstGen@ZU is open to everyone and especially addresses people who are the first in their family to study, who encounter structural and financial hurdles on their way to study or during their studies, or who want to address the issue of educational equity.
The main goal of FirstGen@ZU is to give young pupils and students the help and motivation for studying that they may not get from home. To this end, FirstGen@ZU offers an opportunity for exchange and discussion on this topic for people within Zeppelin University. In addition, we support prospective students, applicants and first-year students who are the first in their family to study or who have to overcome other obstacles in their decision to study and in their everyday life at university.
This is done primarily by sharing individual experiences about studying, financing and careers from other students and alumni, as well as through direct assistance such as proofreading essays and applications.
