First Gen Flourishing Empowering First-Generation Students to Thrive At First Gen Flourishing, we are dedicated to supporting first-generation high school and college students as they navigate the journey to higher education and beyond. Founded by two high school seniors, Khang and Jayden Tawiah, our mission is to break down barriers, foster community, and create opportunities for academic and personal success. Our programs include: • Scholarships: We launched our flagship $1,000 scholarship to support first-generation students with their educational expenses. • College Mentorship Program: Connecting high school students with mentors from top universities (T20-30) to provide guidance on college applications and essays. • Essay Editing Services: A team of experienced college students, including many from UNC Chapel Hill, offers personalized feedback to help students craft compelling applications. As the first high school students to establish a nonprofit of this kind, we are committed to creating a lasting impact and paving the way for future generations of first-gen students.
