First-Gen Place

First-Gen Place's mission is to create a safe space online for first-generation college students and their families; through our services, students will be connected with a broad network of college professors, business professionals, and first-generation peers to offer guidance and support throughout navigating the college experience. We help bridge the gap between first-generation college students and the college world, which can often be confusing, overwhelming, and daunting to enter without any familial connections or familiarity with the process. Since many opportunities are so often granted without holistic consideration, first-generation college students often fall to the wayside in the competitive world of college, particularly in underserved communities. With an emphasis on serving minority, rural, and low-income communities, our goal is to offer free connections, advice, and tools to help students navigate college, from application to graduation and beyond.
