Five Microns

Five Microns was founded in Fresno, California, with a mission to improve humanity by creating devices for the body. We hope to help patients around the world with different diseases and physical ailments with our products. Our first invention began in 2015 as a research project out of California State University, Fresno. Engineering professor and researcher Dr. Leo Nguyen observed that uncontrollable shaking that prevents many people from doing simple tasks, like eating or reading a newspaper, could be controlled with the vibration- dampening techniques he’d seen applied in the construction industry. Three years and many prototypes later, the most recent version of the tremor reducing device, called the Tremelo, is significantly reducing tremors in participant trials. The device does not have any electrical or surgical components; it simply straps onto and stabilizes the wearer’s arm using vibration-counteracting technology. During the research stage, the Five Microns team is conducting further trials to test the Tremelo’s effectiveness with other Parkinson’s patients. With the Tremelo as its launch point, Five Microns continues the process of research and innovation in the field of medical devices to make human lives happier.
