Flare Education

Flare Education is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization with a mission to tackle generational poverty through high school workforce development. Flare Education envisions a world in which every high school student has access to meaningful, paid working opportunities that build students’ “capacity to aspire” to high wage, high demand professions, develop durable human and technical skills required for the future of work, establish students’ social capital with employers and professional networks, and build confidence and clarity with future career goals. Flare Education offers students a 36-month immersive, paid workforce development program as an after school/out-of-school experience. Each 10-month program year, students earn up to $5,000 in total compensation by completing 250+ hours of workforce training, professional mentorship, community events, summer camps, and summer project-based internships or technical apprenticeships. Flare Education provides students with an expansive view of the workforce by the time they leave high school and helps them identify specific career pathways aligned to their professional values, goals, and skills.
