FLEET & DRIVER INSURANCE PLUS © - is designed for Fleet owners with fleets above 100 vehicles looking for sustainable savings in fleet insurance without any upfront investment. The sustainable savings are based on 2 optimisation pillars: Optimal structure In an optimal insurance structure, transparency on the margin of intermediaries is key and margins are at an acceptable level. Optimal structure also requires optimising set-up and risk in order to maximise VAT recovery on accident cost versus non-deductibility of VAT in insurance set-up and payment of non-recoverable insurance premium tax (IPT 27% in Belgium). Current suppliers may not have offered the most optimal structure. Driver behaviour Creating awareness of the cost of accidents for the employer and the high risks for the employee is crucial for improving driving behaviour and improving accident statistics. A structured communication and motivation program focusing on safety can provide sustainable results in lowering insurance cost and generating fuel savings. However, not all companies have had an opportunity make the investments in driver support tools.
