FlexiPod is a smart WFH Pod offering safe, secure and silent workplace at home. With Covid impacting the whole world, many of the offline roles/tasks/jobs are moving to online and remote working model. Many of these require good security controls to meet the data privacy and confidentiality requirements. In case of ITO/BPO/Consulting roles, the secure campuses or ODC (Offshore Development Centres, Nearshore development centres, Proximity development centres and Captive/GCC centres) provide the necessary security controls. Key security controls being
- Authenticating that the authorized individual is accessing the systems, data and information
- Unauthorized persons do not enter such secure ODCs inadvertently behind the authorized person (tail gate)
- Ensuring that apart from authorized personnel, no one else is looking into the screens of the desktops/laptops/machines from behind the authorized person
Above all these, Physical checks and attendance systems ensure that authorized employee has access to office premise and ODC. Even if the credentials for system are stolen, due to physical check there is an extra layer of security. This is completely compromised in remote working model. Hence there is a need to ensure that person with right credentials is the authorized employee. All these controls cannot be enforced in Work From Home and Remote working model due to lack of ODC.
Companies are also expected to provide a good work environment in compliance with worker safety (OSHA or equivalent). Compliance to Worker safety insurance is also a challenge. If employee gets injured in any part of the house, Insurance may have to be covered.
Hence there is a need for solution which helps enforcing these controls in non ODC setup. We have designed FlexiPod - Micro ODC, which addresses all these challenges.
