Float Free is a premier float center located in Vancouver. We are dedicated to the art of flotation, sensory deprivation and isolation tanks. Established in the 1960's, a sensory deprivation tank is a light and sound-free environment that contains ten inches of a solution consisting of water and about 1000 lbs of dissolved Epsom salt with a 35 degrees celsius temperature. When suspended in the water, the body is able to resist all forces of gravity and float naturally while restricting external stimuli due to the high concentration of salt. The effects of floating a multi-folded. First, the body is replenished due to the zero gravity effect. Secondly, the brain is reset as the lack of feeling of extremities allows the floater to focus on the mind.
