About FLOOD-CDT
The Centre for Doctoral Training for Resilient Flood Futures (FLOOD-CDT) is on the cutting edge of flood management research, and we’re looking for passionate, driven PhD candidates to lead the way. As part of our program, you’ll not only work on pioneering, multi-generational research that will shape the future of flood resilience in the UK and internationally, but you’ll also collaborate with world-class industry experts at the forefront of flood management. As a FLOOD-CDT PhD student, you will: Receive a tax-free stipend of £20,780 per year, alongside full tuition coverage and an additional £8,000 research and training grant. Undertake multidisciplinary research that tackles real-world flood challenges both environmentally and societally. Collaborate closely with industry experts, government agencies, and world-leading academics. Benefit from bespoke training programmes designed to develop your technical expertise, leadership skills, and policy impact. Join a vibrant, supportive community committed to making a tangible difference in climate resilience. This prestigious £6.5 million initiative, funded by the Natural Environment Research Council, the Environment Agency, and other key partners, will support at least 56 fully funded PhD studentships across four cohorts.
