Flow India

Flow India is an education and culture organization with a human-centered design focus. We develop learning experiences that empower students with 21st-century skills by making local cultural capital accessible and relevant to them. Flow works with more than 40 schools in India and reaches approximately 45,000+ children across ten Indian cities. We have two headquarters: in London (Flow Associates, founded 2006), and Delhi (Flow India, founded 2010) and work internationally, often acting as a bridge between best practice in different sectors and nations. We support schools, educators, and students in breaking away from the status quo of learning in silos. We view the real world as manifested in its cultural, social, environmental and economic capital, serving as robust learning stimuli that can be drawn from with the use of select strategies, made accessible to relevant stakeholders in an inclusive and cohesive manner. Our work responds to the possible barriers in the adoption of cultural learning as an integral methodology both within the classroom and without – the kind of challenges institutions and their stakeholders are currently facing and how our methodology can address some of those in the teaching and learning spectrum. Our effort is to embed this approach as a 'must-have' component within the learning system and not a mere 'good-to-have'. Our work has been quite unique in responding to the needs and context of different institutions across India and has also set benchmarks for others in the field.
