The Flow Cytometry facilities from Instituto Gulbenkian de Ciência, Instituto de Medicina Molecular João Lobo Antunes, Champalimaud Foundation and NOVA Medical School, the major research biomedical institutions in Lisbon, Portugal, have founded in 2016 the FLxFlow network - a group aiming to gather expertise in flow cytometry in the Lisbon area. Since 2023 iMed.ULisboa is also part of FLxFlow. This cooperation will enable the development of new protocols and solutions in line with the latest advances in the flow cytometry field, with an economy of time and effort. One of the objectives of FLxFlow is also to promote educational events in the area of flow cytometry. In this regard, FLxFlow organized in 2017, 2018, 2021 and 2023 four FLxFlow Courses, which was major successes: with highly recognized international speakers in the Flow Cytometry field, as well as several great national speakers; and more than 400 attendees from academic and non-academic institutions of Portugal and all across Europe who had benefited from dozens of hours of theoretical seminars and days of hands-on practice.
