FlyUP Bio Insect Biotechnology

We are a startup company based in Zagreb, Croatia, dedicated to promoting, customising, and improving Black Soldier Fly (Hermetia illucens, BSF) mass-rearing technology, focusing on Croatia and the region. Our mission is to upcycle low-value sidestreams from the food and beverage industry and agriculture, as well as various types of organic waste, into high-quality biomaterials. By enhancing the power of BSF, we produce sustainable resources such as proteins for animal feed, organic plant fertilizers, and versatile lipids with numerous applications. Additionally, we are exploring advanced biotechnology applications to further enhance the potential of insects in sustainable solutions. Through innovation in the circular economy and green agriculture, we strive to drive positive environmental impact and contribute to a more sustainable future. With over five years of experience in insect farming and more than twenty years of fundamental and applied research experience, our team is well-positioned to achieve our vision.
