Fibromyalgia North Bay (FMNB) was founded on April 6, 2018 when, after months of research, it was discovered there was no information, awareness, education or support about Fibromyalgia (FM) for the people of North Bay and area diagnosed with FM, as well as their family and friends.
Within three (3) weeks of creating the support group on Facebook, we counted 75 members who had been diagnosed, or awaiting a diagnosis. This was an obvious sign that, at the very least, such a group was indeed needed. As of December 1, 2018, we count almost 120 members.
We also welcome people who suffer from Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS) as part of our membership as there is a wide overlap of symptoms in ME/CFS and FM.
FMNB's goal is, first and foremost, support of its members in a friendly environment who are learning and discovering how to manage their FM symptoms. We will also put an emphasis on education and awareness.
