Cage the Elephant are on the cover of our very first print edition, and our very first Five Unsigned are on CD. Somewhere in Shoreditch, we’re interviewing the young Charlie Le Mindu, a 22 year old hairstyling prodigy from Bordeaux who’s been making waves with his creative wig designs. Over in New York, French fashion photographer, Eric Guillemain, is shooting up-and-coming bands for our 12 page Lyrical Fashion spread. Back in London, we’re falling all over Sha La Las, a raucous indie band from Copenhagen, while another Dane, Hans Christian Madsen, gets an intro in our fashion pages alongside Belle Sauvage, Rae Jones and jewellery designer Clovis Wilson-Copp. A young Coco Sumner (I Blame Coco) is nestled among the live reviews, and it’s all about the Tartan in our Style Notes, and the Myspace links in the footer.

Myspace is ghost space and Eliot Sumner has dropped the Coco. Sha La Las are a distant memory and frontman, Lasse Storm, is kicking up just that in his native tongue with DØR NR. 13. Print is dead, but not before we achieved retail success in over 30 countries worldwide. Now, one whole decade of enlightenment later, and we’re thinking Eco over Ego. This is the year we turn our focus to conscious consumerism, and shine a light on those driven by purpose, not just by profit. FMS Magazine is an international, forward-thinking platform, and as such we'll be filtering out fast fashion in favour of sustainable and ethical. We continue to showcase both up-and-coming and established talent from around the globe - from fashion, music and style, through to food, film and culture - but awareness and kindness is key. We can’t promise to be perfect, but we will be the best fucking humans we can be.
