The Focus Group story began when Kenny Trinh started his career with Panda Express in April of 1993. From there, Kenny quickly moved up the corporate ladder from an Hourly Associate to Shift Leader. In 1994, Kenny was assigned to support the opening of the first licensee partner store in Champaign, IL. In 1995, Kenny was promoted to General Manager and relocated to Knoxville, TN. From 1995 to 2014, Kenny has the privileged to be part of the team to focus on expanding Panda Express to the East Coast and across South East of USA. From 2014 to 2019, Kenny further to expand his career with a licensee partner to focus on expanding Panda Express throughout the Military Bases. In September 2019, Kenny embraced the opportunity to become a License Partner of Panda Express. With the help and support of his wife, Katie, Kenny has grown Focus Group from 1 store in Columbus, GA, to the 13th restaurants to-date. Focus Group currently operated stores on Military Bases and Toll Road in Georgia (3), South Carolina (1), Virginia (2), Connecticut (1), Missouri (1), Kansas (1), Florida (1), Colorado (1) and Texas (2). Today, Kenny and Katie’s vision and passion is to continue to expand Panda Express brand, with the possibility to expand to other brands in the near future throughout the Military Bases, Airport and Non-Traditional like Street Locations.
