Instituto FOGAUS Etología y Bienestar Animal

FOGAUS is an innovative organization based in Costa Rica and Spain, which integrates all areas related to Ethology (Animal Psychology), Management and Welfare of all animals. FOGAUS introduced this science in the country in 2007, and since then has been working for its development on the continent. Leaders in Central America in Animal Behavior and Welfare, is an organization specialized in I + D + i, where our area of interest is focused on the animal behavior, management and welfare of all species of animals. It is made up of various departments that give coherence to its objectives such as the Higher Center for Studies in Ethology, Management and Animal Welfare, which works in conjunction with the Autonomous University of Central America UACA, and other alliances, and which dedicates its efforts to training professional animal handlers (domestic, wild, production, work and experimentation animals). Likewise, Fogaus has the Canine Education area through our Canine Training and Psychology Center, located in San José, Costa Rica, the first canine education center awarded the Ecological Blue Flag of Animal Welfare, and the Fogaus Animal Welfare Foundation, dedicated to the training of organizations related to animals such as NGOs, State Security Forces, independent rescuers, etc., as well as to research in ethological rehabilitation of domestic animals and regencies of wild animal rescue centers. The FOGAUS team, professional associations, belong to the National Commission of Bites of SENASA and to the Commission of Animal Behavior of the same Institution. She was also co-founder of the National Advisory Council for Animal Welfare (CONABA), and co-creators of the first Pet-Friendly Certificate together with the Institute of Technical Standards of Costa Rica. We continue to grow without losing our north, which is none other than the WELFARE of all forms of life.
