Fondation Jean-François de Clermont-Tonnerre

Founded in 2009, the Fondation Jean-François de Clermont-Tonnerre is dedicated to advancing access to education for young people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Inspired by Jean-François’s grandfather, François de Clermont-Tonnerre—who co-founded the Institut de la vie in the 1960s to bridge ethics with knowledge—the Foundation champions projects that empower the next generation through learning and opportunity. Exclusively funded by the personal resources of its founder, the Foundation operates with complete independence, driven by a mission to make meaningful, carefully selected contributions to education. Supporting a range of innovative initiatives, the Foundation invests in impactful educational projects worldwide. It also provides scholarships in diverse fields, from the sciences to the arts, to equip young people with skills to shape their futures.
