Fontal Development Foundation was registered under the Indian Trust Act 1882 in the year 1998. Since its inception, the organization dedicated itself to the
development of poor and marginalized people, especially for the development of women of such communities in the Santhal Pargana region of Jharkhand State. The organization is the dream child of the present secretary of the organization, Ms. Teresa Hansda, who has devoted her life to the empowerment of women since her college days, with the active help from Mrs. Sarla Karn, the president of the organization, who also shares the same dream. In the past years, Fontal Development Foundation was able to spread its reach in the 4336 populations consisting of 2106 female and 2230 male of 745 poor and marginalized
households in eighteen villages of five blocks of Deoghar, Dumka, and Pakur District of the Santhal Pargana region.
The Fontal Development Foundation (FDF) took the initiatives for the development of WASH facilities, Agricultural promotion, Women and Child Development, Environment development, Health development of the
targeted people of these areas.
