Food Chat aims to fight food waste at large scale. It collects tons of fruits and vegetables from wholesalers returned by retailers for disposal due to minor quality issues or not meeting rigid industry standards. Food Chat offers saved goods to a growing community and delivers on a weekly basis to dedicated locations for pick up. To date, Food Chat sells around 4 - 6 tons of goods every week to a growing community and delivers to 7 locations in the eastern part of Switzerland. After having proved the business model Food Chat is about to professionalize its operations and has a strong appetite for national growth.
