Foot Path Academy

Foot Path Academy is an Online Training Platform that provides training to people who are incarcerated to help them transition back into society after they are released. Our goal is to reduce recidivism by teaching essential life and job skills. The curriculum encompasses instruction on topics such as using self-checkout at stores, setting up a bank account, understanding food, applying for jobs, using Microsoft Office, interacting with others, avoiding conflicts, evaluating situations, public transportation, recycling, and caring for the community to name a few. We also cover a wide range of practical job skills to equip people for success after release. For example, computer-based job skills, tattooing, stocking, shipping & receiving, forklift, self-employment, roofing, framing, drywall, electronics repair, auto mechanics, and others. Yes, some of these skills will require proper licensing and additional training after release but equips individuals with knowledge and interest in paths they can pursue after release. Finally, this platform also teaches the statistics behind returning to prison and how to avoid it or ask for help and use resources. By empowering people with knowledge and abilities, we aim to facilitate successful reentry and lower repeat offense rates.
