FordHaven CIC

Based in Glastonbury, FordHaven Community Interest Company (CIC) is a safe, independent and inclusive community hub for children and their families created by Roxana (Roxie) and Paul Ford. WHAT DO WE DO AT FORDHAVEN? We offer a safe, non-judgmental space where children & families can re-establish, repair and maintain relationships by spending quality time together. We also provide space for those who are home-educated, struggling within school or unable to attend school for whatever reason. We are an inclusive community of children from diverse backgrounds, each with unique stories and needs, who come to build relationships, explore new interests, and develop a sense of belonging. We are committed to supporting children and young people in becoming the best versions of themselves and achieving positive outcomes through interactions and relationships. We work alongside agencies and organisations to do this. As a CIC, we rely heavily on donations received, grants and funding (in addition to our fundraising efforts) to enable us to offer life-changing memory-making experiences for all. Every penny we receive is needed to host children/young people and their families and provide this essential service to the Somerset and wider community. OUR STORY FordHaven was created out of a need for compassion and empathy for children and young people and is driven by passion and lived experience of broken family life, Social Services and foster care and working with local authorities. Roxie and Paul had very different upbringings that equip FordHaven with qualities that make us a stronger team when advocating for children and young people. They have over 10 years of fostering experience and are parents to three wonderful young people. This gives FordHaven valuable knowledge of children's needs and deeply influences our determination to ensure this much-needed Somerset resource and lifeline exists.
