Lithuanian Forest and Land Owners Association (LMSA) is a national public organization representing private forest owners in Lithuania operating since 1993. Our mission is to unite forest owners and organizations serving private forestry into an association capable of coordinating activities, representing association members and defending their legitimate interests.
LMSA successfully represents and defends private forestry at both national and international levels. During more than 20 years of activity, LMSA has grown into a public organization with more than 6,500 members, which has been accepted into its ranks by the Confederation of European Private Forest Owners (CEPF), European Landowners Organization (ELO), International Family Forest Alliance (IFFA), supported by Denmark, Sweden and associations uniting forest owners of other countries. LMSA is a member of the Lithuanian Chamber of Agriculture, the Lithuanian Association of Independent Wood Surveyors, the Lithuanian Business Confederation, and a participant in the round table of the forest owners' associations of the Baltic Sea countries. Recently, cooperation has been actively developed with the Lithuanian Agricultural Advisory Service, the Lithuanian Biomass Energy Association "Litbioma", the Lithuanian Heat Suppliers Association,
Constructive and immediate cooperation of LMSA with the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania, the Government, the Ministry of Environment, which oversees forestry in Lithuania, as well as the Ministry of Agriculture and the National Payment Agency attached to it, which administers EU support for rural development, allows us to achieve excellent results in the formation of a correct private forestry policy in Lithuania.
