Despite a gradual awareness of the value of trees and forests since the 2010s, deforestation continues to be rampant. Tropical forests are the main victims of deforestation. Every year, 10 million hectares of forests disappear (FAO, 2020). This represents approximately 2,400 trees felled every minute. Deforestation also has a heavy responsibility for climate change. Deforestation and forest degradation are the cause of 15 to 17% of global greenhouse gas emissions, leading to the disruptions we see today.
ForestCalling SAS develops, finances, and operates reforestation programs in tropical areas, with the double objective of restoring degraded forests, and monetizing carbon credits associated with those restored forests.
