Fórmula Windy - UO

Formula Windy gathers all our work related to Wind Tunnel tests (Aeroelasticity & Aerodynamics, Hydraulic Machinery, Wind Engineering, Pollutant Dispersion, Aeroacoustics, and even Water Tunnel tests included) and it is formed exclusively by Professors and Researchers with the Department of Energy and GIFDE (Spanish Official Research Group) of the University of Oviedo. The Department of Energy of the University of Oviedo (GIFDE: Fluid Mechanics Area and Hydraulic Engineering Area) owns 6 wind tunnels for Wind Engineering, Acoustic Engineering and Turbo-machinery Testing, as well as many others small wind tunnels for smoke visualization and teaching about boundary layers. There is also a wind tunnel in Princeton University, NJ, USA. Our Department collaborates with the Department of Construction and Fabrication Engineering of the University of Oviedo (GICONSIME: Construction Engineering Area) which owns 1 Wind Tunnel for Wind Engineering (ceded by Fluid Mechanics Area and firstly re-constructed by JJCD and ANM). SERVICES WE PROVIDE: Wind tunnel testing: 2D, 3D and full aeroelastic models (ABL): forces, pressures, motions&accelerations and PIV in civil engineering and renewable energy structures (bridges&buildings, roofs, towers, windshields, turbines, wind turbines, blades&wings, ventilation, solar trackers&fixed photovoltaic), aeronautics&aerospace, aeroacoustics, pollutant dispersion, granular material piles, sports aerodynamics (cycling, motor-racing, motorcycling), probe cal.
