The Fire District provides Basic Life Support (BLS) services for immediate life-threatening emergencies. The Advanced Life Support (ALS) response unit is Platte Valley Ambulance Service is in Fort Lupton at Fire Station 1. There is always a Paramedic and an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) assigned to the ambulance. They transport patients to the nearest appropriate hospital for diagnosis and treatment. When PVAS is not available, we currently partner with Platteville/Gilcrest Fire Protection District Ambulance, and Frederick-Firestone Fire Protection District Ambulance to provide supporting backup ALS services for one another. Med Evac Helicopter provides air transport. They are stationed in Greeley. The Insurance Services Office (ISO) sets the Public Protection Class (PPC) rating for properties within the District’s jurisdiction based upon an evaluation every five years. This is how your insurance rates are assigned. Class 1 being the highest and Class 10 the lowest rating. The Fire District has a Class 2/10 rating. This means that any property within 5 miles of a station, no hydrant required, is classified as a Class 2 and any property beyond the five (5) road miles is a Class 10.
