Forward Society (FOS) Lab

At the Forward Society (FOS) Lab, we help changemakers working with marginalised communities access frontier research tools, data, and methodologies. Led by faculty members in the Department of Economics at the University of Toronto, we partner with governments and other decision-makers. Our logo celebrates “fos”–the Greek word for light–and represents our commitment to seeing, understanding, and learning from the communities with whom we work. We embrace this commitment by fostering long-term research partnerships with governments, civil society groups, and others to uncover evidence-based solutions to social and economic concerns. We are here to help partners harness the power of available data, using that data to better analyse their unique challenges and find actionable solutions.
