The child welfare system is overwhelmed and has limited resources. The families involved need more support than the system can provide. We believe there are many people who would like to help, but just need to know how. Foster Well acts as a bridge to connect the foster care community with people in churches and the community who want to support them. We do this primarily through two programs, CarePortal and Care Teams.
CarePortal is a technology platform where partnering agencies refer children and families in need to our network of churches, individuals, and businesses to meet essential needs such as clothing, beds, dressers, and baby items. Each church forms a response team who directly responds to the items requested and connects with the family.
Care Teams are vetted volunteers who are matched with foster, kinship and biological families to provide ongoing support. This support looks like providing items for the children, meals, encouragement, or hands on help.
