The Foundation for International Understanding Through Students, or FIUTS, has been promoting intercultural exchange and global student leadership in the Puget Sound Region for more than 60 years. Founded on the University of Washington campus in 1948, FIUTS connects students to local and global communities through programs that build international awareness, cross-cultural communication, and informed leadership.
Our programs include international student orientation, short-term community homestays, social and intercultural activities, leadership training, and K-12 education outreach. We work with international and American students at the University of Washington, students from other area schools, and visiting student and professional groups from around the world.
