The CRC is a non-profit organization created by the combined effort of the ICES Foundation (http://www.icesfoundation.org/Pages/CustomPage.aspx?ID=97) and Metanoiaa, Inc.(http://www.thehomegalaxy.com/).The Center's endeavors will combine advanced visualization tools with high performance computing to produce and predict scenarios for assessing risks across the Cascadia Region. Such risks include disruptions to the climate, the environment and to society. The CRC is a collaborative research hub engaging private, university and governmental partners spanning Cascadia.

The Third 8 is a non-profit organization with a mission to produce films that showcase and inspire philanthropy, volunteerism and mentorship. The organization will continuously create films that bring public awareness and exposure to individuals and organizations whose work has positively impacted society in profound ways. The first film titled “The Third 8” is based on Phil Smart Senior’s life. The film will position and communicate the power of passion, philanthropy and mentorship through interviews with those who have dedicated a significant portion of their lives to improving their communities. Subsequent films will take a deeper look at specific organizations and individual contributions to society.

The Humphrey Fellowship program is administered by the Institute of International Education and primarily supported by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs.The Evans School of Public Affairs hosts between 11 and 15 distinguished mid-career professionals from around the world every year through the Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program. The fellows take part in one year of advanced non-degree study to gain hands-on experience and theoretical knowledge of how the U.S. approaches work in their professional fields.

Outercurve Technologies is an enterprise software development company focused on wireless data applications for Research In Motion’s (RIMM) Blackberry to Fortune 1000 financial service companies. As Chairman and Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Vega was responsible for strategic planning, setting the corporate goals and objectives as well as the overall Company direction, including formulating policy. Mr. Vega led the Company on all capital raises and strategic alliances. He also oversaw the day-to-day administration, finance and management of the Company while ensuring proper corporate governance and compliance with applicable laws and by-laws.Mr. Vega and his team planned, negotiated and executed the takeover strategy of Outercurve Technologies, Inc. in August 2002 while the Company was in Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. He effectively restructured, reorganized and recapitalized the Company and successfully launched Company out of bankruptcy in December 2002. Mr. Vega developed and implemented the strategic business plan that included the successful acquisition of Vaultus Wireless Services, a division from Vaultus Mobile Technologies.In 2005, OCI was the Company that was responsible for launching and establishing Research In Motion’s (RIMM) Blackberry in the Middle East.

Omnesys Technologies, Inc. is a leading provider of integration tools and services with a global client base that includes Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies. As Senior Vice President responsible for business development, Mr. Vega’s focus was delivering real-time market data interface systems and real-time calculating engines for financial services.Targeting major financial companies such as Merrill Lynch, New York Life, JP Morgan Chase, Citigroup, and the New York Stock Exchange, Mr. Vega developed and implemented the Company’s strategic business plan, sales and marketing strategies that successfully closed subscriber-based contracts within three months from start date.

Wall Street Communications was the first company to successfully distribute Research In Motion’s (RIMM) Blackberry and developed wireless software applications for the financial services industry. As Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Vega co-founded and directed Wall Street Communications, Inc. from 1998 to 2000. He developed the Company’s strategic business, sales and marketing plan that monetized on wireless data opportunities.The Company closed $3 million in recurring revenue contracts within 2 years of launch and grew the Company to become the top Wireless Solutions Provider for Research in Motion. Mr. Vega was responsible for negotiating and completing the sale of Wall Street Communications, Inc. on July 29, 2000 to Outercurve Technologies, Inc., a company owned by Research In Motion (RIMM), AOL/Time Warner and First Union Bank.
