Foundation Of Progress

At Foundation of Progress CIC, our journey began in 2012 when we were known as Supreme Young Voices (SYV). Growing up in the Islington and Camden areas, a group of friends recognised a critical shortage of opportunities for local youth. This realisation inspired us to create SYV, an initiative dedicated to empowering young people through sports, activities, and workshops. Partnering with Access to Sports and Islington Council, we organised half-term multi-sports programmes, weekly sports sessions, and educational workshops for young people aged 6 to 25. Through these efforts, we introduced the community to activities such as archery, fencing, roller skating, and tennis, sports they might not otherwise have had access to. Despite our early success, we paused SYV to focus on our careers, as we were just 17 and 18 years old at the time. However, the rising levels of serious youth violence in Islington brought us back together in October 2024, now as the Foundation of Progress. With more wisdom, connections, and resolve, we’ve recommitted ourselves to making a meaningful difference in our community. Our mission is clear: to intervene early in the lives of young people, offering positive opportunities and support, and to assist parents in navigating the challenges they face. In a time when serious youth violence has reached unprecedented levels in our area, we’re determined to provide the guidance, resources, and hope our community needs to thrive. Together, we aim to break down barriers and build a brighter future for the next generation. Foundation of Progress is here to stay stronger and more determined than ever to create lasting change.
