Where we came from? Four Oceans Press was established in the summer of 2007, in Oakland California by working printmakers, a picture framer and a public Middle/High school Art teacher. We hosted international print exchanges and local art shows. We published reviews and catered to artists, helping them to expand their collectors. We attended hundreds of artist led shows and published a few books and calendars. Our Archive spans over 20 print exchanges and includes over 300 artists from around the world. Take a look here. Where we are now? We have pared down our focus over the last few years, but we have the same goals. Showcasing the talent of artists. Increasing their presence in art collections. Teaching non-artist about the work we do and inspiring them to creative work. We can and should all make art: for self-expression, for insight into ourselves and even to help create the world we want to live in. Where are we going? We are building! A store. A newsletter. And more books and art. Our store: On Etsy will feature the work of a few of ‘our artists’ – printmakers and painters who we have worked with since our beginning as well as some new to us. And maybe a few vintage books we would like to get into new hands. On OpenSea we will feature selected NFT’s by MicroBlossom. Our Newsletter: We will feature art and those who make it. Writers, poets, sculptors – anyone who creates something beautiful. We will show off their work and tell a bit of their story. We will also feature artistic techniques and a few technologies.
