Foxleigh Mine is located in Queensland’s Bowen Basin coalfield, 2km south of Middlemount and 272km northwest of Rockhampton.
The mine was established in 1999 as an open cut operation producing Premium LV PCI coal for the export market with production beginning in January 2000.
Middlemount South purchased Anglo American Metallurgical Coal's 70% interest in the Foxleigh JV in late August 2016.
Middlemount South joins POSCO Australia (20%) and Nippon Steel and Sumitomo Metal Australia (10%) as participants in the Foxleigh JV.
