The firm was established in 1975, originally as Frank Hirth & Co - a firm of
Chartered Accountants, and offered general accounting and tax services with a particular emphasis on US and UK tax compliance. It quickly became apparent that we were building an in-depth technical knowledge of the interaction between the US and UK tax jurisdictions and we used that knowledge to advise our clients through their complex tax issues.
Guided by a passion for building lasting relationships with our clients based on trust, understanding and technical excellence, the firm flourished for more than 40 years becoming the leading firm in this field.
As a result of our long term success the tax practice of Frank Hirth was sold to EY on 1 May 2021 where our staff and clients would be able to have enhanced development opportunities within a larger organisation. The former Frank Hirth tax business became known as EY Frank Hirth and has more recently become known as the US/UK Cross Border team (one of the main services within EY Private Client Services dept- see https://www.ey.com/en_uk/tax/private-client-services
