Why we do it We live in the age of the experience. Whether it’s of the workplace, education, city making, mass transport systems, or retail, entertainment and hospitality, people want more than the top-down, one-size-fits-all approach that characterises many of the places we live, work and play in. Physically or virtually, we hanker after places, products and services made for us. Seen this way, experience design’s no luxury: it’s an absolute necessity. How we work Whether making a single building, a transport hub, a digitally integrated campus, a bank, or indeed an entire neighbourhood, we begin with people. We work in partnership with the client and the intended user. Together, we programme or storyboard the ideal journey across time. Together, we create beautifully relevant destinations. And together, we manage the ongoing experiences of those destinations, ensuring that they remain relevant now and later. Where we come from For us, a place, service or product is nothing without people. We are its stories, its built programmes, its life. Attractive and involving, the fascinating otherness of the experience is designed to be overturned by our need to engage with it. In doing so, we become a part of it.
