OUR STORY Founded in 2017, Freestyle Poke is destination to experience extraordinary food served by extraordinary people. We believe people should feel good about what they eat, how it is served and their overall experience when dining in our locations. Prior to Freestyle Poke’s birth, we visited over 27 different Poke Bowl Restaurants on 5 continents, 6 different countries, interviewing owners, customers, suppliers and the communities of each of these geographic areas. Our mission was to connect with others around the World so that we could truly understand what makes an incredible tasting poke bowl but most importantly, what does it mean to serve people in an extraordinary way. We put our learnings to the test as our Kansas City native / founder built Dubai’s first poke bowl restaurant which quickly became one of the most popular food places in the country and earned a spot as UberEATS # client in the country. We are now here to make an even bigger impact in Kansas City and throughout the Midwest United States. OUR PURPOSE “Poke with a Purpose” is our ethos. At Freestyle Poke, we are about more than high quality, good tasting food; we believe in putting people before profit. Rather than viewing our team as a resource, or in other words something that gets ‘used’ for a benefit , we see our team as a “source” of contribution and unleash them from the old paradigms of dictatorship-like businesses . We provide a space where each member has a voice and the opportunity to contribute and influence decisions at any level, where there are no longer outdated managerial hierarchies but rather teams, coaches and members, where ideas or directives no longer come from the only the top down but are continually generated amongst our them, where communication between members and conflict resolve has a framework and set of rules so that bureaucracy dies and efficiency lives, where we operate the business as a conscious community rather than a monarchy . “Poke with a Purpose” is our way of transforming the way people perceive, think and go about doing their work We believe you have a lot to offer the World and that your voice matters.
