Founder/Director François Thibaut is one of New York’s most seasoned language instructors. Thibaut began teaching French in the Paris public school system in the late ‘60s. Then, in the early ‘70s, he came to New York to teach French to adults at the college level and privately. Within a short time, he founded his own programs: Cercle Franco-Americain specializing in adults, and The French Workshop for Children (later The Language Workshop for Children) for younger ages. Throughout his career, Thibaut has maintained a roster of private adult students. François Thibaut knows how to connect with pupils from all walks of life, and make everyone feel comfortable.
Thibaut teaches many classes himself, and he personally trains and supervises all French Salon teaching staff. Over the years, Thibaut produced the multi-award winning Professor Toto Language Education Series for children, and was featured in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, People, Parents, CNN, the BBC, CBS, NBC, ABC, PBS, Telemundo, Univision, and other major media.
