At Fresh From The Garden we believe that growing your own fruit and vegetables is one of the greatest things that you can do for yourself, your community and the environment. It is our desire to provide people with a platform that they can use to swap their produce with other like minded people, and receive something that you would like in return.
In early 2013 when Fresh From The Garden was still a twinkle in our eye, we came up with 5 key things that we believe in, and are the foundation for this website.
Stop Waste
Every tomato that rots on the vine, every broccoli floret that goes to seed, every jar of pickles that gets thrown away and every lemon that falls off the tree is a waste of love, resources and time.
Bring People Closer
By providing people with the opportunity to meet and trade whenever they want with whomever they want, we are trying to foster a broader sense of community and friendship.

We want you to get more than just the occasional thank you for your produce. More and more people in the community these days want to take, and give nothing in return. This website is about you getting something back.

By swapping with other like minded people for things that you don’t have, it stops you from going to the supermarket and buying things that can be expensive, and additional items that you don’t need.
Saving the Environment
By growing or making your own and swapping it with people in your community, you’re no longer eating beans that have been frozen and driven 1000km’s, or drinking orange juice from Brazil.
Our purpose is to assist you in gaining value for what you grow, keeping your hard won produce within the community. We know that no matter how many carrots or peas you buy from the supermarkets, they’ll never taste as sweet as the ones that you picked that day.
