Fresh Start Cleaning and Maintenance

Cross-Toronto Community Development Corporation operating as Fresh Start Cleaning and Maintenance or "Fresh Start" is a registered charity that was established in 1990. All of Fresh Start's employees have lived experience with mental health and addiction issues. Fresh Start is funded in part by the Ministry of Health & Long-Term Care through the Toronto Central Local Health Integration Network (TCLHIN) to provide part to full-time employment opportunities to psychiatric survivors. Fresh Start provides janitorial, hoarding reduction, pre-pest control preparation, lawn care and snow removal services to the greater Metropolitan Toronto community. It also provides eviction prevention services for the City of Toronto on the west side of Yonge Street to help eliminate homelessness. An important aspect of Fresh Start's alternative business model is to provide social recreation activities and outings for all of its employees.
