FrostBoss® provides innovative frost protection solutions to growers around the world, with its range of frost protection fan units and software. From its base in Hastings, New Zealand the business specialises in frost fan design and manufacture, as well as the subsequent field placements, installation, and servicing.
We are backed by a significant research and development programme focused on improving the efficiency and reliability of frost fans. The result of this research has been the development of the FrostBoss® C39, C49 & C59 frost fan units incorporating the advanced composite fan blade sets, automatic frost protection control units, monitoring software and a mobile phone-based monitoring app.
The much higher blade passage frequency of the 4-blade fan also means the noise signature no longer has a low frequency beating sound similar to twin rotor helicopters. Along with the FrostBoss® C59 (5-blade machine), the FrostBoss® C49 is the quietest machine on the market and is the best-selling machine in New Zealand and Australia.
A growing market for fan upgrades now exists as new technology is adapted to upgrade existing older units with newer composite blade sets. The efficiency of older units can be significantly improved by the retrofitting of composite blade sets combined with mechanical upgrades and automated controllers.
Web and mobile phone-based monitoring of frost protection has become more popular among growers as technology becomes readily available, and the FrostSmart® system has been designed with this in mind. FrostSmart® Frost Fan monitoring is an ideal solution if you don't live on-site or you're running multiple Frost Fan units.
Our fans are installed in Australia, Canada, Italy, France, Portugal, Spain, Bulgaria, Turkey and Chile through local distributors. Our products protect an extremely diverse range of crops from Grapes, Apples and Blueberries to Avocados, Citrus, Almonds and more.
